Staying Passionate with Maureen Aldrich

Maureen Aldrich is from Akron, Ohio, and has been an optician for 34 years. She has worked in a multitude of professional settings, including franchises owned by a corporation, and franchises owned by a doctor.  

On staying passionate:  

Maureen said, “I continue to learn; especially about all the new products and different ways I can help my patients with those products. I want to help the maximize their vision to make sure it’s the best it can be.”  

Maureen recently joined the OAO as a member and she has never been a member before. I asked her what prompted her to join, and she said, “Although I have never been a member, I have heard a lot about it, and my good friend, Abbie Martin had asked me to join, and I promised I would. Another very important reason I joined was because I had heard of all the efforts the OAO had put forth to save my license. I think it’s important that I contribute towards the fight to maintain our license, especially considering how long we’ve had it, and how difficult it was to get.”
