Josh said, “As they say, I am living the dream, which means I am blessed to be able to come to work at my own optical each day. It is definitely a struggle, but I knew it would be going into it.
On staying passionate:
Josh stated, “Our jobs are certainly demanding, and a high-profile patient once quoted the verse Galatians 6:10 which is 'Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone.' I took that to heart, and I not only stay passionate about by profession by drawing on that, but I even had it printed in large letters on my wall.”
Josh related a recent story of how an awkward middle school girl came in with an Rx for her first pair of glasses and wanted nothing to do with it. Josh started putting glasses on her father, fitting him instead of her. She got involved, and before long, both the father and daughter were laughing, trying glasses on each other, and she ended up being fit with the perfect pair for her. “I love the human aspect of this profession, and the joy I am able to bring to others.”
